TMC Youth President Saayoni Ghosh Not Part of Panchayat Poll Campaign After ED Questioning

West Bengal (July 1,2023) : TMC youth president Saayoni Ghosh has been excluded from the party's panchayat election campaign after she was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case. Ghosh was summoned by the ED on May 23 and was questioned for over 10 hours. The ED is probing a case of alleged financial irregularities in the construction of a shopping mall in Kolkata.

Ghosh has denied any wrongdoing and has said that she is cooperating with the ED's investigation. However, her absence from the panchayat election campaign is a major blow to the TMC. Ghosh is a popular figure among the youth and her absence could dampen the party's chances in the elections. The panchayat elections are scheduled to be held in West Bengal in May 2023.
