IIE Digital Desk : Honourable Raksha Rajya Mantri of Bharat, Shri Sanjay Seth, visited the historic Gun & Shell Factory (GSF) on July 10, 2024 Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) visited the state-of-the-art facilities at GSF and reviewed the latest advancements in arms and ammunition production. Hon’ble RRM expressed appreciation for the critical role played by GSF in ensuring self-reliance of India's defence infrastructure.

The visit included detailed briefings on current projects and future initiatives aimed at further modernizing and expanding GSF's production capacities. Hon’ble RRM also interacted with the senior officials, recognizing their efforts in maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. In this context, CMD, AWEIL Shri Rajesh Choudhary presented the recent achievements of the Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Ltd (AWEIL) and Executive Director of GSF Shri Rajesh Kumar Pandey presented on behalf of GSF. 

Hon’ble RRM Shri Sanjay Seth emphasized on the government’s focus on Atmanirbharta and lauded the efforts of AWEIL and GSF in that direction. Hon’ble RRM said that this was a satisfying visit to the historic Gun & Shell Factory. He found GSF marching ahead in consonance with the philosophy and principles of Bharat’s defence production.  More specifically, after the new DPSUs were formed from erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board, it is quite evident that GSF and its parent organization AWEIL are performing in a manner that has set new benchmarks for others to emulate.  Hon’ble RRM wished the dedicated officers and workmen of both GSF and AWEIL a great future ahead.
