IIE DIGITAL DESK : March 24 — The political confrontation has erupted after Union Minister and senior Giriraj Singh launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, describing him as an “innocent child” while accusing him of spreading misinformation and misleading the public.

The remarks come in response to criticism by Rahul Gandhi over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent address in the Lok Sabha on developments in West Asia. Gandhi had taken aim at the Prime Minister’s statements, prompting a sharp rebuttal from Singh, who defended the government and questioned the credibility of the Leader of the Opposition.

Speaking to the media, Giriraj Singh alleged that Rahul Gandhi had previously spread incorrect information during the COVID-19 pandemic and had attempted to provoke public sentiment. He asserted that the people of India continue to place their trust in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, adding that despite global volatility, fuel prices in India have remained stable compared to many other countries.

Singh went further to claim that the “only problem” facing the country today is the conduct and statements of the opposition leadership, intensifying the ongoing war of words between the ruling party and the Congress.

The Union Minister also weighed in on a separate controversy involving remarks made by Haji Shaukat Ali, the Uttar Pradesh president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. Responding to the issue, Singh emphasized that India operates strictly under the rule of law and warned that no individual or political figure has the authority to take the law into their own hands.

Referring indirectly to leaders like Akbaruddin Owaisi, he reiterated that governance in India is determined by constitutional processes, not by individual assertions or rhetoric.

The latest exchange highlights the deepening political divide ahead of crucial electoral battles, with leaders across parties increasingly engaging in sharp and personal attacks as they seek to shape public opinion.
