IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Agra, May 25: United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with his wife Jeanette D. Rubio, visited the iconic Taj Mahal on Monday, describing the historic monument as “one of the world’s true treasures” and expressing admiration for its beauty during their visit.

Marco Rubio signed the visitors’ book and wrote a message appreciating the opportunity to witness one of the world’s most remarkable heritage sites. He thanked the hosts for allowing him to experience the monument up close, calling it an extraordinary example of global cultural heritage.

When asked about her experience, Jeanette D. Rubio expressed her admiration by simply saying, “How beautiful.” The couple appeared deeply impressed by the architectural brilliance and historical significance of the Taj Mahal.

The US Secretary of State and his wife arrived in New Delhi earlier in the day from the capital before travelling to Agra for the monument visit. They toured the Taj Mahal premises, explored its surroundings, and spent time admiring the marble structure, which is widely regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The visit, they also took photographs in front of the Taj Mahal, capturing moments at one of India’s most visited and globally recognised heritage sites. The presence of Sergio Gor, the United States Ambassador to India, added diplomatic significance to the visit.

The visit highlights continued cultural and diplomatic engagement between the United States and India, with heritage tourism playing an important role in strengthening people-to-people ties. The Taj Mahal, located in Agra, remains one of the most iconic symbols of India’s rich history and continues to attract global leaders and tourists from around the world.
