
IIE DIGITAL DESK ; June 12: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, travelled to Bangladesh on Friday via the Petrapole land border crossing by road. During his journey, he also visited the integrated check post at Petrapole and inspected various infrastructural facilities along the route.
The Indian High Commission in Bangladesh, a social media update stated that High Commissioner-designate Dinesh Trivedi and Minal Trivedi were warmly welcomed upon their arrival in Bangladesh. The post added that the High Commissioner-designate entered Bangladesh through the Petrapole–Benapole border checkpoint, where he was received by Deputy High Commissioner Pawan Badhe.
Officials described the visit as part of routine diplomatic movement and border coordination between India and Bangladesh, highlighting the importance of smooth functioning infrastructure at one of the busiest international land crossings between the two countries.
The Petrapole–Benapole border remains a key trade and transit route, and such inspections are seen as significant for maintaining diplomatic and logistical efficiency between the neighbouring nations.
