IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kolkata, May 28: The Trinamool Congress has come to light, as tensions between party MPs Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Kalyan Banerjee have reportedly reached a peak. In a significant development, TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has written a formal complaint letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging harassment and inappropriate behaviour by fellow party MP Kalyan Banerjee.
The complaint, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has accused Kalyan Banerjee of repeatedly mistreating and verbally insulting her inside the Lok Sabha. She has requested the Speaker’s intervention, seeking action against what she describes as a pattern of unacceptable behaviour within the House. The complaint also highlights concerns about alleged sexist remarks and behaviour directed not only towards her but also towards several other women members of Parliament.
Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar stated that she is formally seeking permission to file a complaint against Kalyan Banerjee, an MP from the All India Trinamool Congress, for repeatedly insulting her verbally inside the Parliament. She further alleged that such behaviour reflects misogyny and has been directed towards multiple women MPs, and therefore requires strict disciplinary action.
The development has once again brought internal tensions within the ruling party into public view, raising questions over disciplinary conduct among its senior leaders in Parliament.
