IIE DIGITAL DESK : Kolkata: The future of key social welfare schemes following the change of government in West Bengal, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has firmly assured that no existing government project will be discontinued. The clarification came after the first Cabinet meeting held at Nabanna under the new administration.

The wake of the political transition in the state, questions had emerged regarding whether flagship welfare schemes introduced by the previous government, including Lakshmir Bhandar and Swasthya Sathi, would continue. These schemes have been widely availed by beneficiaries across the state, making their future a matter of significant public concern.

The media after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Adhikari categorically stated that benefits under all existing government schemes would remain intact. He emphasized that the new administration is committed to ensuring that common people do not face any disruption in receiving welfare support.

Lakshmir Bhandar provides direct financial assistance to women from eligible households, while Swasthya Sathi offers health insurance coverage to families across West Bengal.
