Kolkata Police Commissioner Visits Several Areas to Review Security Ahead of Panchayat Elections

Kolkata (June 30,2023) : Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal visited several areas of the city on Tuesday to review security arrangements ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections. He visited the areas of Behala, Gariahat, and Salt Lake, and met with local police officials to discuss their plans for ensuring a peaceful election.

Goyal stressed the importance of maintaining law and order during the elections, and he urged the police to be vigilant and to take action against any troublemakers. He also said that the police would be deploying additional forces in sensitive areas, and that they would be using CCTV cameras and other technology to monitor the elections.

The panchayat elections are scheduled to be held in West Bengal on May 14, 19, and 21, 2023. The elections are a major test for the state government, and the police are determined to ensure that they are held peacefully.
