Explosion Rocks Popular Kolkata Café: Injuries Reported
IIE Digital Desk : Kolkata's bustling Jodhpur Park area was jolted by a powerful explosion at a local café on Wednesday morning. The blast, which occurred shortly after the café opened, blew out the shutters and shattered the glass doors, causing panic among the nearby residents. One employee, identified as Chandrakumar Gurung, was injured and has been hospitalized.
The explosion is suspected to have been caused by a gas leak. Initial reports suggest that gas accumulated overnight and ignited when the café was opened, leading to the blast. Firefighters and police quickly arrived on the scene to extinguish the flames and investigate the cause. Local residents described a loud bang that shook the area around 11 a.m., leaving debris scattered around the café. Fortunately, there were no customers inside at the time of the incident, minimizing the potential for more injuries.
