Another Rowing Accident in Rabindra Sarobar
Kolkata (July 08,2023) : Another rowing accident has been reported in Rabindra Sarobar, Kolkata. This is the second such accident in the last year, and it has raised concerns about the safety of rowing in the lake.
The latest accident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a boat carrying two rowers capsized in a sudden squall. The rowers, both in their early twenties, were rescued by other rowers and taken to hospital. They are said to be in a stable condition.
The previous accident occurred in July 2022, when two teenage rowers died after their boat capsized in a storm. That accident led to calls for safety improvements at Rabindra Sarobar, but it appears that more needs to be done.
