Washington (July 14,2023) : A US Senate committee has reaffirmed that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India, and it has slammed China for its aggressive and expansionist policies in the region.

The committee's resolution, which was passed unanimously, reaffirms the US's recognition of the McMahon Line as the international boundary between India and China. The McMahon Line is a boundary that was agreed upon in 1914 by Britain and Tibet, and it is recognized by India as the border between Arunachal Pradesh and China. The resolution also condemns China's continued efforts to claim Arunachal Pradesh as its own territory. China has built roads and military infrastructure in the disputed region, and it has also detained Indian citizens who have been traveling in the area.

"The United States reaffirms that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India," the resolution said. "We condemn China's aggressive and expansionist policies in the region, and we call on China to respect the sovereignty of India." The resolution's passage is a significant show of support for India from the US. It comes at a time when relations between India and China are at a low point, and it sends a clear message to China that the US will not tolerate its aggressive behavior in the region.
