IIE DIGITAL: Prime Video has offered audiences a first look at its upcoming original series Job Trafficking, an eight-part thriller that delves into the shadowy ecosystem of sophisticated online fraud. Fronted by Nimrat Kaur and Roshan Mathew, the ensemble cast also includes Kavya Trehan, Pavan Malhotra and several others.
The series is created and directed by Prashant Nair, the filmmaker behind the critically acclaimed Trial By Fire. Production on the project is currently underway.
Rather than centring on a single protagonist, Job Trafficking weaves together the lives of three individuals from vastly different worlds—a cyber scam operative desperate to escape the criminal racket, a woman whose life is upended after becoming the target of an online con, and a corporate executive caught in the fallout. As their journeys intersect, they uncover a chilling network fuelled by manipulation, betrayal and exploitation.
The drama takes inspiration from the global rise of "pig butchering" scams, an elaborate form of cyber fraud in which criminals patiently build emotional bonds with unsuspecting victims over weeks or months before convincing them to part with their savings through fake investment schemes.
Produced by Pratik Khanuja, Sameer Chand, Vikesh Bhutani and Shujaat Saudagar under the banners of Select Media Holdings and Chalkboard Entertainment, Job Trafficking is slated to stream on Prime Video in the coming months.
