The pop star reportedly enjoys preparing Indian inspired dishes at home and has treated her friends to roasted cauliflower cooked with a blend of traditional spices, yoghurt and aromatic herbs. Her culinary experiments have even helped Travis discover a taste for Indian food. The couple is said to enjoy favourites such as chicken tikka, butter chicken and a variety of vegetable curries, dishes that Taylor can also prepare herself.
Taylor often cooks vegetarian meals when her friends visit, many of whom do not eat meat. Roasted cauliflower and other vegetable dishes are among the options she likes to serve. While Indian flavours are a favourite in their kitchen, Taylor and Travis reportedly prefer their food on the milder side. Green chillies are rarely used, with paprika serving as a gentler alternative for adding flavour and a hint of heat.
Taylor’s roasted cauliflower is prepared in a fairly simple way. She starts by cutting the cauliflower into small florets and washing them thoroughly before marinating them. Olive oil is her preferred choice for cooking, and the florets are coated with cumin powder, coriander powder, paprika, a small amount of turmeric, salt, black pepper and olive oil. The cauliflower is then left to absorb the flavours of the spice mixture.
For the accompanying sauce, Taylor reportedly skips ready made cream and mayonnaise. Instead, she prepares a yoghurt based dressing at home by combining sour yoghurt with chopped garlic, lemon juice, a little cumin powder and black pepper. The ingredients are whisked together until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
The spiced cauliflower is then placed in the oven and roasted at around 200 degrees Celsius for 30 to 35 minutes, until the edges become crisp and golden. To serve, the yoghurt sauce is spread onto a plate and topped with the roasted cauliflower. A sprinkling of fresh coriander and roasted peanuts completes the dish, adding both freshness and crunch.
Travis has also spoken about how Taylor encouraged him to move beyond familiar American food and try dishes from different cuisines. Indian food, in particular, seems to have become one of his favourites. The football star reportedly enjoys butter chicken with warm garlic naan, while both Taylor and Travis are also said to appreciate Indian lentils and vegetable curries packed with protein and fibre.
