The protest, which stemmed from prolonged irregularities in water supply, brought vehicular movement to a grinding halt and created a tense atmosphere across the locality.

Discontent had been simmering for quite some time over the erratic and inadequate supply of drinking water. The situation reached a flashpoint on Friday morning when residents gathered in large numbers near the Sagorbhanga pumping station, demanding answers to a question that has long troubled them: “Why is there no water?” The protest quickly escalated as demonstrators raised slogans and expressed their frustration over what they described as administrative apathy.

After staging a demonstration at the pumping station, the agitated residents moved onto the nearby state road and began a blockade, effectively disrupting traffic and causing inconvenience to commuters.
