Howrah City Police Seize 230 Kg of Weed, 3 Arrested
Howrah (August 05,2023) : The Howrah City Police on Friday seized 230 kg of weed and arrested three people in connection with the case. The weed was being transported in two cars when it was intercepted by the police.
The arrested persons have been identified as Akash Das, Anirban Mandal, and Sourav Haldar. They are all residents of Howrah. The police said that they received a tip-off about the transportation of the weed. A team of police officers was deployed to intercept the vehicles. The vehicles were intercepted near the Howrah Maidan.
The weed was seized from the vehicles. The arrested persons have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. They have been produced in court and remanded in police custody. The Howrah City Police has been cracking down on the illegal transportation of drugs in the city. In the past few months, the police have seized a large quantity of drugs and arrested several people in connection with the cases. The police said that they are committed to keeping the city free from drugs. They urged the people to come forward and report any suspicious activity to the police.
