West Bengal (August 01,2023) : Former teachers and professors in Kolkata are surprised by the high numbers of MBBS students in the city. They say that the number of students has increased significantly in recent years, and that this is putting a strain on the resources of medical colleges. "I've been teaching for over 30 years, and I've never seen so many MBBS students in Kolkata," said Dr. Sukanta Banerjee, a former professor at the Calcutta Medical College. "The number of students has increased by at least 50% in the past five years, and this is putting a strain on the resources of our medical colleges."

Dr. Banerjee said that the increase in the number of MBBS students is due to a number of factors, including the rising demand for doctors in India and the increasing popularity of medical education among students. He said that the government needs to take steps to address the issue, such as increasing the number of medical colleges and providing more funding for medical education.

Other former teachers and professors echoed Dr. Banerjee's concerns. They said that the high numbers of MBBS students are making it difficult for students to get a good education. They also said that the increase in the number of students is leading to a decrease in the quality of medical care in Kolkata. "The high numbers of MBBS students are putting a strain on the resources of our medical colleges," said Dr. Manoj Kumar, a former teacher at the Seth Sukhlal Karnani Medical College and Hospital. "This is leading to a decrease in the quality of medical education and medical care in Kolkata."

Dr. Kumar said that the government needs to take steps to address the issue, such as regulating the number of MBBS seats in Kolkata. He said that the government also needs to increase the number of medical colleges in the city and provide more funding for medical education. The high numbers of MBBS students in Kolkata is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. The government needs to take steps to ensure that all students have access to a quality medical education and that the quality of medical care in Kolkata is not compromised.
