Shilpi Dutta, Cooch Behar 29 May 2023: Monday was a day of pride for the people of North Bengal. The Prime Minister of India inaugurated the Vande Bharat High-Speed Train from New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati on Monday. Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sharma and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnab were present during the auspicious inauguration at Guwahati station. A few days ago, the Ministry of Railways started an extreme political debate by saying that the New Cooch Behar station was not named as a stoppage during the trial run of Vande Bharat. In this situation, the ruling party Trinamool Congress staged a formal protest and blocked the train, making the situation fiery. However, Cooch Behar's MP and the country's Minister of State for Home Affairs said that the Vande Bharat Express will stop at New Cooch Behar Station and he kept his promise. Sri Nisith Pramanik arrived in New Cooch Behar by train from Guwahati after the inauguration of Vande Bharat Express by the country's Prime Minister on Monday. Sri Nisith Pramanik spoke to the students and passengers at New Cooch Behar station. Several BJP MLAs were present at the New Cooch Behar station. In this context, the Minister of State for Home Affairs said - Why are those who protested against the Vande Bharat Express not present on this auspicious day? So is their protest only for political reasons? He also said - those who pelted stones at Vande Bharat Express are very mean-minded people.
