The allegations were raised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which also claimed that sharp weapons such as sickles and cutters were found inside the premises.
The office has been linked to former municipal councillor Lovely Roy, according to BJP leaders who alleged that the items were stored under her association with the party office. The claims have intensified political friction in the area.
The reports, local residents also expressed concern and questioned the purpose behind storing such materials in a political office. Police reached the spot shortly after the incident was reported and initiated a preliminary investigation into the matter.
The origin of the recovered items and investigating whether they were linked to any government schemes or used for other purposes. Officials have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the allegations.
The Trinamool Congress has strongly denied the accusations, stating that the claims are politically motivated and part of a campaign to defame the party. The party has demanded a fair investigation into the matter.
