IIE Digital  Desk: The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), the governing body of Wimbledon, has announced that women players will be allowed to wear colored underwear under their white skirts and dresses starting in 2023. This is a significant change, as Wimbledon has had a strict dress code requiring players to wear white clothing since the tournament began in 1877.

The AELTC said that the decision to allow colored underwear was made in order to give players more choice and comfort. "We want to ensure that all players feel confident and comfortable on the court," said an AELTC spokesperson. "Allowing players to wear colored underwear is a small step, but we believe it is an important one."

The change has been welcomed by many players, who have long argued that the white dress code is outdated and restrictive. "I'm glad that Wimbledon is finally making this change," said Serena Williams. "It's about time that women players have the same freedom of choice as men."

The decision to allow colored underwear is a sign of the changing times at Wimbledon. The tournament has been criticized in recent years for its outdated rules and traditions. However, the AELTC has shown a willingness to adapt in recent years, and this latest change is a step in the right direction.
