 IIE DIGITAL DESK: In an emotional reflection on her career, Indian cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur has attributed all her achievements to the sport she reveres as divine. "Cricket is like a god; it has given me everything," Kaur stated passionately. Known for her explosive batting and leadership skills, Kaur has become a beacon of inspiration for young cricketers across the globe.

Kaur’s journey began in Moga, Punjab, where she honed her skills on dusty grounds with minimal facilities. Her dedication and talent soon saw her rise through the ranks, making her debut for the national team in 2009. Over the years, Kaur's performances have been pivotal in India's numerous victories, including her record-breaking 171* against Australia in the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup semi-final.

Under her captaincy, the Indian women's cricket team has scaled new heights, challenging traditional powerhouses and earning global respect. Kaur acknowledges the sport's role in shaping her life and providing her with opportunities she never dreamed possible.

Speaking exclusively to Star Sports, Harmanpreet said, "Cricket, I think, is everything to me. Without cricket, I do not think I would be anything. The name that cricket has given me, no other field could have given it to me. So I think, for me, cricket is like a god.

Whatever, dreamt of in my childhood whatever, dreamt of while playing everything has been given to be by cricket. Harmanpreet recalled that when she held the indian jersey for the first time she took a picture after wearing it. After that she was confused about whether to share with picture with the parents first or with her coach.
