IIE Digital Desk : Tree plantation drive begins at govt schools Reasi July 1 On the guidelines of the Jammu and Kashmir UT administration, a plantation campaign was launched in all government schools in the Reasi district today. Under this campaign, over one lakh different species of trees will be planted in 1098 government schools by the forests department in association with the education department. The campaign was launched today by Deputy Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Mahajan.  The officials, along with the school faculty, planted trees at Government Middle School, Seela. Around 10 species of fruit-bearing trees were planted, and school staff were also engaged in the awareness campaign supporting plantations.  “Plantation drives should be carried out to keep the environment clean and green. Off late, the Reasi has been witnessing a high level of air pollution, and there is a need to utilize the school grounds to revive the green cover,” said Mahajan.
