IIE DIGITAL DESK : The new panel of government lawyers has been constituted at the Calcutta High Court following a recent administrative reshuffle after the formation of the new state government.

Senior advocate Rajdeep Majumdar has been appointed as the Additional Advocate General (AAG) and will assume charge with immediate effect. He will continue in the role until further orders, according to the official notification.

Advocate Kallol Mandal has been named as the Public Prosecutor (PP) at the Calcutta High Court, taking responsibility for representing the state in criminal matters.

The government notification also confirmed that advocate Nilanjan Bhattacharya has been appointed as Senior Standing Counsel, while advocate Dibyendra Narayan has been designated as a government pleader.

These appointments reflect a restructuring of the legal representation team of the state government in the Calcutta High Court. All new roles have come into effect from Wednesday and will remain active until further official changes are announced.

The reshuffle is seen as part of the routine administrative realignment following changes in governance, aimed at strengthening legal representation and improving coordination in court proceedings.
