IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kolkata, June 29: Pool car carrying school students met with an accident in front of Fort William in Kolkata on Monday morning, leaving three students and the driver injured. The incident occurred when a car approaching from the Red Road side reportedly lost control and rammed into the pool car, causing panic among commuters and temporarily disrupting traffic in the area.

Preliminary information, the collision took place during the busy morning hours when students were on their way to school. The impact of the crash caused significant damage to the pool car and resulted in injuries to three students travelling in the vehicle, along with its driver. Local residents and passers-by rushed to the spot immediately after the accident, while police personnel quickly reached the scene to initiate rescue operations and regulate traffic.

One of the injured students was taken to SSKM Hospital for medical treatment. Doctors examined the student and, after providing primary treatment, discharged the child as the injuries were reported to be minor. The remaining students who were travelling in the pool car were found to be safe enough to continue their journey after necessary checks.

To ensure that the students reached their educational institution without further delay, the police arranged another vehicle and sent the remaining children to school. Authorities also worked swiftly to clear the damaged vehicles from the road, restoring normal traffic movement after a brief period of congestion caused by the accident.

The vehicle that allegedly lost control and collided with the pool car has been seized by the police. The damaged pool car was also taken into custody for further examination. Police have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and are examining whether rash or negligent driving, overspeeding, or any mechanical failure led to the collision.

The incident once again highlights the importance of road safety, particularly during school hours when thousands of students travel across the city. Authorities are expected to examine all aspects of the accident before taking appropriate legal action against those found responsible. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, and all the injured individuals are stated to be out of danger.
