The latest announcement follows the party’s earlier declaration of 192 candidates in the first phase, marking a continued effort to finalise its electoral strategy ahead of the crucial polls.

The second list, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has fielded candidates across the majority of seats, with 28 constituencies going to the CPM. The Communist Party of India (CPI) has been allotted three seats, while one seat has been given to the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), reflecting the alliance structure within the Left Front.

One of the key highlights of the announcement is the nomination of Adhir Pramanik as the CPM candidate from Joynagar, drawing attention in a politically significant constituency. In Tollygunge, Partha Pratim Biswas has been fielded, while Anarul Haque will contest from Chanchal and Jamal Hossain from Raninagar. In Krishnanagar Uttar, Advaita Biswas has been nominated, and in Krishnaganj, the party has fielded Archana Biswas.

Diamond Harbour, Samaren Nath Naiya has been announced as the CPM candidate, while in Bhabanipur, Sreejib Biswas will represent the party. In Ballygunge, young face Afrin Begum Shilpi has been given the ticket, highlighting the party’s attempt to bring in new and diverse candidates.

Other notable CPM candidates include Pulin Bihari Baske from Nayagram, Ibrahim Ali from Panskura East, Niranjan Sihi from Panskura West, Santir Giri from Nandigram, Himanshu Das from Khejuri, and Sudipta Sarkar from Jangipara. In Metiaburuz, Monirul Islam has been fielded, while Chandranath Banerjee will contest from Champdani and Anupam Ghosh from Manteswar.

The CPI quota, Bikas Sarengi has been nominated for Gopiballavpur, Mohammad Ali Reza Mandal for Murarai, and Akhilesh Kumar Singh for Asansol North. The RSP has fielded Pasang Sherpa from Kalchini.

The Left Front has also emphasised diversity in its candidate selection, stating that among the 32 candidates announced in this phase, 11 belong to minority communities and three are women candidates, reflecting its attempt to build a broad-based electoral representation.

With this second list, the Left Front continues to build momentum in West Bengal’s multi-cornered electoral battle, aiming to strengthen its presence across key constituencies as it challenges both the ruling Trinamool Congress and the opposition BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections.
