Jaitley Takes Action Against Sandhu for Defamatory Tweets
IIE Digital Desk : Former Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley has escalated her case against Pakistani journalist Umair Sandhu, who defamed her on Twitter. Jaitley has filed a complaint with the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Sandhu had tweeted in January that Jaitley had slept with both Feroz Khan and his son Fardeen Khan. Jaitley denied the allegations and filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police. However, the police said that they could not take action against Sandhu as he was not in India.
Jaitley has now filed a complaint with the NCW and the MEA. The NCW has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter and has written to the MEA, asking them to take action against Sandhu. The MEA has said that they will take up the matter with the Pakistani government. Jaitley has said that she is determined to get justice and that she will not back down until Sandhu is punished. She has also said that she wants to send a message to other women who have been defamed online.
