IIE DIGITAL DESK : Indian Idol Season 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan was critically injured in a severe car accident on National Highway 9 near Gajraula, Uttar Pradesh, in the early hours of Monday, May 5, 2025. The 28-year-old singer was en route from Champawat, Uttarakhand, to Delhi to attend a program when his MG Hector SUV collided with a stationary Eicher Canter truck around 3:40 a.m.
According to Akhilesh Pradhan, in-charge of Gajraula police station, preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the collision. Pawandeep, along with two other passengers, sustained serious injuries in the crash. He was initially taken to a nearby private hospital for first aid and later transferred to Fortis Hospital in Noida for advanced treatment.
Medical reports indicate that Pawandeep suffered multiple limb fractures, including injuries to his left foot and right arm. He is currently stable and conscious but will require a series of surgeries as part of his recovery process. A video showing him receiving medical attention has surfaced on social media, prompting an outpouring of concern and prayers from fans nationwide.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his concern on social media, stating, "Received the news of famous singer Pawandeep Rajan getting injured in a road accident. I pray to God for his speedy recovery.
